On a clear day in Auckland if standing on the steps of the War Memorial Museum or the summit of Mt Eden, look north and see on the distant horizon a double peak. This is Tamahunga, Matakana's iconic mountain.

An hour's drive North of Auckland, head east at Warkworth on the Matakana Road, then 2 kms past the Matakana Village turn right into Takatu Road, at the Omaha Flats roundabout stay right to follow the sign to Buckleton Beach then enter the first road on the right. This is Whitmore Road where you will find Jeannette Switzer Silver Jewellery and Art Studio.

Art in Paradise is artwork derived from the pleasures of being in a beautiful place, the inspiration of fabulous surroundings and the influences of the New Zealand plant and coastal themes. The pohutukawa tree is the greatest inspiration to my work and this first page shows various ways in which I have incorporated this theme into my jewellery art.
