1.Warkworth, Heart of the Kowhai Coast, 150 years. 50 street flags on all the town's central street lights will fly from September until the end of summer. Businesses and landlords in the commercial area have been asked to sponsor a flag for $200 each.

2. Warkworth Kowhai Flower - the symbol of Warkworth. Large kowhai trees are often thick with tui in the spring, their joyous calls heard from afar as they drink their full. The hills surrounding Warkworth are coloured yellow in the spring and the Kowhai Festival is held at that time attracting thousands of visitors to the area.
